Meet Kiarah

Kiarah Powell is a Health Science student at Spelman College with a passion for healthcare, STEM education, mentorship, and creating opportunities for students who may not always have access to guidance. Growing up, Kiarah saw how important having support and resources can be when pursuing big goals. Throughout her own college application journey, she spent countless hours researching scholarships, programs, opportunities, and ways to build an application that truly represented who she was. Through that process, she learned that many students have incredible stories and experiences but may not always know how to showcase them. After sharing her own journey online, Kiarah began receiving messages from students asking for advice about applications, scholarships, essays, and opportunities. She quickly realized there was a larger need for accessible support, which inspired her to create Kiarah’s Application Corner (KAC). Kiarah created KAC to be the resource she wished she had, a place where students can ask questions, receive encouragement, and have someone in their corner throughout the college application process. Whether a student needs help organizing deadlines, strengthening their activities section, finding scholarships, or simply having someone remind them that they are capable, Kiarah’s goal is to make the process feel less overwhelming and more achievable.
